Job Objectives:
Develop and implement Communications strategy (including Public Relations, Media, Commercial and Social Media) for the AirAsia Aviation Group Limited (AirAsia)
Build AirAsia’s reputation across regional markets and ensure effective media coverage throughout the region
Support issues management and crisis communications
Reporting Line:
This role will report directly to the Head of Communications (Airlines)
Key Accountabilities:
Ensure strong partnerships with reporters, anchors, news desks, program managers, editors and columnists in Malaysia and across the region
Build a strong network of key influencers (especially travel & lifestyle category) in Malaysia and across the region
Prepare daily news monitoring reports for the airline
Draft and disseminate press releases to media, media monitoring, media report
Draft other supporting communications documents as required
Organise press conferences, radio and TV interviews and strengthen media presence for AirAsia
Propose communications plans for the launch of new routes as well as roll out sustenance PR plans to maintain the share of voice for various new products and services
Coordinate and work alongside Regional and all lines of businesses under Capital A (holding company of AirAsia Aviation Group Limited) for press-related matters and attend regional meetings and related events
Support issues management and crisis communications strategy
Facilitation of content for photo / audio-video shoot for media-related matters for the airline
Other ad-hoc projects as instructed by the Head of Department
Requirements:
Degree holder in Communications, Broadcast Communications, Journalism, Media Arts or its equivalent
1 - 3 years relevant working experience in PR agencies, or in-house brands. Those with experience in the airline industry, or work in the media will have an added advantage
Strong command of English and able to translate between both fluently in a professional setting. Ability to read and write any other language(s) including Bahasa Malaysia & Mandarin will be an added advantage
Possess a passport and able to travel (both domestically and internationally)
