The Opportunity
The heart of Unity's rendering engine is our graphics device - every triangle and pixel goes through this code. The DirectX version of our Senior Graphics Engineer role extends and tunes our implementation for PCs, Xbox, and other Windows-powered devices, while coordinating with our other graphics APIs teams to produce the fastest and most capable rendering engine in the market. What you'll be doing
- Design, implement, and maintain high-performance rendering features for Direct3D while coordinating with other API and platform teams.
- Develop and maintain production-quality code, public documentation, and tests.
- Design robust and extensible public APIs.
- Collaborate in a cross-discipline environment, to enable Unity's users with the best and most full-featured Unity engine we can write.
What we're looking for
- Proficiency with C++ programming.
- Proficiency with one of the following graphics APIs: DirectX12, Vulkan, or Metal.
- Experience working on shaders and rendering features.
- Performance-minded development, code profiling, and optimization skills.
- Relevant education and/or hands-on experience with real-time graphics rendering, GPU computing, multi-threaded programming, or similar technology fields.
You might also have
- Experience developing graphical applications using Unity.
- Experience with DirectX12
- Experience with data-oriented design (DoD)
- Mobile and/or console development experience (e.g., Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Xbox, Sony Playstation).
